Hip Replacement and Recovery
Are You Really Ready?

doctor examining x-ray I wasn't.

My hip replacement came as quite a shock to me and I truly wish I'd had more time to prepare; not just for the surgery itself, but for all the other things that go along with it.

So, having had one hip done and knowing that I would be having the other one done soon, I decided to use the "in-between" time to learn as much as I could.

I wanted to be able to answer questions anyone undergoing such surgery would want to ask like: -

And so many more questions. painful hip

Questions about preparing for surgery, how to manage when I returned home and, so importantly, when could I start getting active again. After all no one has the surgery in order to sit on their butt for the rest of their life!

So I started asking around, doing research and interviewing some fantastic people (professionals and fellow patients) and I can now share all the answers with you.

My vision for the site is for it to become a platform for all patients to be able to share their thoughts, fears, successes and knowledge.

First step is to join our forum where professionals and patients meet to discuss every aspect of hip replacement surgery.

I'm always open to suggestions on how to improve the site and what to write about. Think of it as your site as much as mine but with the luxury that I do all the grunt work.

Good luck with your operation
