Pain Diary and Physio

by Pamela

Another week has flown by and not enough accomplished! I seem to have lost the zest for writing for the site right now and instead am doing research and learning about google analytics and other techie stuff that I should understand. So apologies to anyone waiting for the next hip replacement page to appear.

As for my various aching joints - well they continue to do their stuff and ache away. I've bought myself a pain diary for my iphone - called "My Pain Diary" - simple eh! Now all I have to do is remember to use it. Being able to monitor the pattern of pain is important and being able to remember what hurt when and for how long seems to be totally beyond me. The pain diary let's me add in all the details I need and, brilliantly, lets me email it all to my doctor. The only downside I've found so far is that you can't alter the episode times, they're given as the time you made the entry. I'll let you know how it works out over the next few weeks.

I've also decided to break open the piggy bank and splash out on a physiotherapist. I've found one near to where I live and sent them an early morning text. I'm quite excited!

Oh yes I've also decided to lose a bit of weight. My sedentary, post-op life style has meant the kilos have returned so now its time to lose a few again. I'm 74 kg today so hopefully by next week I'll be 73 - my first goal is to get to 69.9

Hope you're all doing well. Keep in touch and stay strong
