Should I or Shouldn't I?

Well the pain diary has been very much used this week. The reason being that I've taken a few days off work in order to prepare a couple of rooms to rent in my new house in Hull. I so enjoy the work - shopping for bits of furniture, visiting the local auction house and a bit of painting and decorating - but my knee hates it!

When I'm working in my office I'm pretty well sedentary and rarely have to carry anything heavier than a biro but as soon as I take some time out then I try walking too far and carrying things that I shouldn't and then the knee flares up with a vengeance. Naughty knee!

When its like this I'm ready to sign up for the op immediately but whilst I'm at work the idea of a knee replacement seems just plain daft.

My decision on timing has been very affected by something my surgeon said. To paraphrase him "With a hip it will go on improving for up to two years and you will gradually forget you've ever had the operation but not so with a knee - you'll always be aware of that. " Sounds a bit grim but then I console myself with the thought of how many happy knee replacement patients there are.

I guess its time to seriously think about how bad it'll have to be before I go for surgery. I wish they could do my left hip at the same time but Mr W says no - not possible.

What else?
The first set of exercise pictures are now ready but I managed to lose the text - silly me! I'm sure I'll get it rewritten by the end of next week. Apologies for the delay.

I'm also thinking about a book and a competition - more on both of those later.

Best wishes
Pamela
