Updates and Ramblings

(Hip Replacement and Recovery)

The weeks seem to fly past so quickly but I'm glad its Friday again so I can sit in bed with my new netbook and write to you.

I've just read an article about osteoporosis (which I was diagnosed with a few years back) - very scary stuff. The outcomes for people with osteoporosis who fracture their hip are pretty bad. I'll be doing some more research on this and writing it up for the site soon.

As for my joints - well I'm sure you're getting as bored with their moaning as I am! I'm finding balancing doing the right sort and right amount of exercise hard so I've decided to treat myself to a few sessions of physio just as soon as I get the cheque from my new tenant.

I have a lot of respect for physiotherapists and just wish there was more access to them on the NHS but we have to live with what is not what we'd like.

I've been working away on the site as usual. The exercise pages should go up this weekend and I have asked someone to work on the look of the site - colours, fonts, layout etc. I'm hopeless at graphic design so thought asking for help would save me a lot of angst and mean I got a great job. So in about two weeks time this should be a three column site with a revamped look and feel.

I'm absolutely delighted to see more and more people visiting Hip Replacement and Recovery. This month there will have been over 1,000 unique visitors - I hope they all found something useful here. I do love hearing from you so please keep the messages and questions coming in.

Yesterday we cracked the 1 million mark on Alexa. For those of you who don't know Alexa.com ranks sites according to popularity. They calculate that there ae over 200 million active sites in the world and we have just made it into the top million. The likes of google and facebook occupy the top places so we won't be much of a threat to them :)

Well I guess I'd better stop rambling and get up and get to work.
Until next time
Pamela
